What are taped speaking assignments and how often will I have to do them?
These are assignments you will do on cassette tapes to be turned in to your instructor. Your instructor will listen to your tape, comment on your pronunciation and give you comments on how you can improve your speaking.
What is the purpose of these assignments?
The purpose of the taped speaking assignments is to provide you with practice and individualized feedback in speaking. These assignments will allow your instructor to give you more one-on-one instruction tailored to help you correct your particular speaking problems.
How should I do these assignments?
You will need a 60 or 90 minute cassette for your taped assignments.
Please label your cassette and your cassette case with the following
information.
|
LAST NAME, First Name |
Practice with the tape recorder until you are familiar with it. Then make your recording. Rewind the tape until the beginning of the recording and submit it to your instructor. You must have your tape 'cued up' - that is, rewound so that it is ready to begin playing the assignment when your teacher presses 'play.'
You will receive the tape back with comments from your instructor. Listen to the comments and practice any items that need correcting. Do not erase these comments.
Before you record your next assignment make sure your tape is at the end of your instructor's comments. Do not record over any of your previous assignments.
When you are done recording the assignment, remember to rewind the tape
to the beginning of the new assignment. This will save your instructor
time having to hunt on your tape for the place where you began.
