In English 104 you will be given many opportunities to use your English. You will have a series of assignments this quarter that require you to gather information from Americans. Americans are usually quite cooperative. Ask them is they have a few minutes to answer some questions for you and tell them that the questions are to complete a class assignment.

Make note of any new words or slang that are unfamiliar to you and if you are misunderstood during the conversation, write down the words or sounds that cause confusion and bring them up in class or tutorial.
