Description: The goal of the course is to improve the student’s listening and speaking ability in English. The focus of the class will be on listening to authentic language situations, participating in speaking activities for use in everyday life, and developing the vocabulary necessary to understand and express oneself in these tasks. (There will be an optional writing component to this course.)

Description: This class will help you with some of the “troublespots” of English grammar that often cause problems for international students. This class is neither intended as a complete review of English grammar nor as a beginning writing course. Rather, it is to help you improve your writing by focusing on problem areas in your current writing. Therefore, the class will focus on two points: selected grammar explanations and writing practice.
